Have to give another five star review to Cookie! This is my favorite place in Harlingen! The specials are wonderful. My boys beg me to go just to order their bacon wrapped jalapeños. I love her cha cha plate. Picadillo with Mexican taco toppings on the top. Mild red salsa on the side. Just delish. Low carb...great taste. My hubby always gets the specials. Free tea! We enjoy watching the games on the screens on weekends. Our work lunch bunch loves it weekdays, too. Everyone loves Cookie. So convenient to everything...right across from Harlingen Walmart. In the midst of the Harlingen central shopping area. Love her interior. Beautiful decor. High ceilings. Lovely accent wall. Both booths and tables. Always clean. Staff has always been super friendly. It's a shame I can't give it ten stars!

Spacious High Ceilings and Perfectly Cooked Mexican Food. Excellent Salsas and the Best Coffee in town. Thank you Cookie and Staff for such a Delightful Experience every single time. A+

I cannot recommend La Botana more!!! I ate at the restaurant, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. I was even able to add a chili toreado as a side (which isn't on the menu). I don't understand why everyone is so upset with their food, of course your delivery order will probably be cold..... Most of their employees seem to be very fluent in English, AND Spanish. I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. Every time a server walked by, they asked if everything was 'ok,' Even the server in training did an impeccable job. Delicious authentic food. My Asada was SO great, I cleared the entire plate. The only thing I could criticize, is they could add a little bit of extra rice and beans along with your meal. Other than that, I'll definitely be recommending this to my other colleagues. I can't wait to come back!
The building is old, but everything was clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was hot and excellent and the price was outstanding. I had the roasted chicken dinner. They had Covid symptoms questions posted on the door. They also only had four open tables out of 10 for social distancing. When I was there there was a family all the way on the other side of the restaurant. Everyone wore masks. They also offered take out and delivery.
I was just passing through town and found this place on my way back to Houston. It's nothing fancy but the food was good, the price was right, and the service was exceptional enough for me to take time out of my day to encourage everyone in the area to give them a try. If you like spicy food ask for the salsa rojo.
